Exploring 4 waterfalls of Kampung Assum Padawan

Padawan is definitely a hiking heaven for those that seek a get away from the city and immerse in nature. Hiking is always fantastic, especially if the hike are to explore waterfalls. What better reward for a good hike then to have a refreshing dip in a cool jungle waterfall.

 


Kampung Assum

Assum Village is about 60km from Kuching and is just about an hours drive from Kuching City. It is recommended that to do the 4 waterfalls, best do it early in the morning say by 7.00 am depart from Kuching City and by 8.00am start with the hike.

The hike is a single trail and will take you to 4 waterfalls and total hiking would be about 2 hours plus including photo taking and all.

The 4 waterfalls are:

  1. Nub Waterfall
  2. Bubby Waterfall
  3. Apot Waterfall
  4. Suran Waterfall

Trail Difficulty

Trail is moderate and does require some level of fitness. Trail starts from the village hall and passes through the village and within 30 minutes you would reach the 1st waterfall, Nub Waterfall.

From Nub Waterfall the climb to the rest of the waterfalls is rather steep. Trail is well maintained and certain part there are ropes to assist in your hike up. From Apot Waterfall to the final waterfall, Suran Waterfall, be prepared to tackle some ladders.

  Arong Serait Waterfall Arong Serait Waterfall is becoming a favourite weekend hiking and picnic spot for locals near Kuching.
